A Train Ride Ended with a Birth of a Girl

In the course of a journey from Astana to Zhezkazgan, a baby girl was born on May 27 aboard passenger train No. 66. As she entered her final month of pregnancy, passenger Alvin Pernebayeva began suffering labor pains during the trip and sought assistance from the train conductors, according to reports from Liter.kz.

The quick-thinking train chief, Kiyikbay Mahanov, and conductor Altynay Gafullina were prepared to act following their training, providing a suitable environment for the delivery midway through the journey. Two compassionate passengers, a paramedic from Satpayev and a kindergarten worker, joined in to assist. Coordinated efforts from the train crew and passengers led to the safe birth of a healthy baby girl at 6:20 a.m.

Upon arrival at the nearest station, Jenis, a rapid medical assistance team was summoned to examine the mother and newborn. The Father of the girl, Alihan Zhanalin, expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who provided essential, timely assistance. The baby was named Asyl.

Regular training in first aid and handling uncommon situations is a standard part of the crew's routine for JSC "Passenger Transportation." During the past three years, 15 babies have reportedly been born on their trains.

It's noteworthy that official records do not specify the exact number of babies born on JSC "Passenger Transportation" trains in the past three years. While there is ample data discussing global and national trends in skilled birth attendance, no sources mentioned railway deliveries or JSC "Passenger Transportation" specifically.

The train crew of JSC "Passenger Transportation", including Kiyikbay Mahanov and Altynay Gafullina, were trained in science, specifically health-and-wellness, allowing them to handle the emergency birth on train No. 66. In light of this, it's essential for railway companies to prioritize such training, contributing to the safe health-and-wellness of passengers.
