Alan Partridge Returns to BBC One in 'How Are You? It's Alan (Partridge)'

Steve Coogan's beloved character, Alan Partridge, is back on our screens with a new BBC One series, 'How Are You? It's Alan (Partridge)', premiering on October 3rd at 9.30pm. The series explores Alan's personal struggles with mental health, following a public incident where he passed out while presenting an animal feed award show.

Coogan, who has been playing Alan since the early 1990s, feels comfortable with the character in his later career. The new series sees Alan return to the airwaves after a four-year hiatus. It reintroduces familiar faces like Alan's assistant Lynn Benfield and 'Sidekick' Simon Denton, and introduces Alan's semi-live-in girlfriend, Katrina, played by Susannah Fielding.

The mental health theme is kept in the background, with the focus squarely on humor and Alan's unique perspective. Co-writers Neil and Rob Gibbons, along with Coogan, avoid delving into deep mental health issues, instead focusing on humoristic 'Alan-isms'. The series features a humorous segment where Alan attends a book club discussing 'Small Things Like These' by Claire Keegan.

In addition to his return as Alan Partridge, Coogan will also play former Ireland soccer manager Mick McCarthy in the upcoming film 'Saipan'. 'How Are You? It's Alan (Partridge)' promises to bring laughter and familiar chaos to BBC One viewers, starting this Friday.
