GEN Team Attends BioProcess International Meeting in Boston

The GEN team, led by John Sterling, Editor in Chief, and Julianna LeMieux, Deputy Editor in Chief, attended the BioProcess International (BPI) meeting in Boston. The four-day event, which ran from September 13th to 16th, brought together bioprocessing professionals from around the world.

On the first day of the meeting, there was a strong focus on the integration of digital technologies in bioprocessing. The sessions discussed various trends in the industry, with a particular emphasis on the potential impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on bioprocessing. The day ended with a keynote speech on the subject, providing valuable insights into the future of bioprocessing.

During the day, John and Julianna attended several sessions, taking note of the trends and advancements being presented. One of the highlights was the advancements in gene editing technologies, which were being showcased throughout the meeting.

John, who has been attending BPI since its inception, shared his observations on the evolution of the bioprocessing industry. He noted the significant strides made in the field, particularly in the areas of digitalisation and gene editing.
