Carbon Monoxide Leak at Bakery Disrupts Haslach Anniversary Festivities

A carbon monoxide leak at a bakery near me in Herrenberg/Haslach on Friday, October 3, 2025, affected nine people, with four requiring hospitalization. The incident occurred during the 1250th anniversary celebration of Haslach, with several hundred festival attendees nearby. The Integrated Control Center of the Böblingen district received a report about the gas leak at 12:39 PM. The bakery, which was operating as part of the anniversary festivities, was quickly evacuated. Emergency services and firefighters arrived promptly, closing a section of Hohenzollernstraße for safety. They ventilated the bakery and suspended its operation indefinitely. Four people were taken to hospitals for further examination, while five were treated on the scene. A rescue helicopter transported one of the injured to a hospital, with the others transported by ground. The injured complained of circulatory problems and nausea due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Police Chief Thomas Reichel, head of the Ludwigsburg police headquarters, is leading the investigation into the cause of the leak. Despite the incident, the festival continued after the operation was completed around 2:30 PM. The carbon monoxide leak at the Haslach bakery resulted in nine injuries and temporarily disrupted the anniversary festivities. Emergency services responded swiftly, ensuring the safety of those affected and nearby festival attendees. The investigation into the cause of the leak is ongoing.
