COVID-19 resurgence observed
In the Rhine-Kreis Neuss area of Germany, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to rise. As of March 27, 2020, a total of 260 cases have been reported across the region, with significant increases in several cities.
The city of Mönchengladbach has seen a rise in cases, with 16 new confirmed cases reported on March 27, bringing the total number of cases in the city to 151. This represents an increase of 21 people from the previous day, with 424 individuals currently in home quarantine.
Despite the increase in cases, no deaths from the infectious disease have been reported in Mönchengladbach. However, an 88-year-old woman from Grevenbroich has passed away from complications of the disease, bringing the total number of deaths in the district to four.
Elsewhere in the Rhine-Kreis Neuss area, the number of cases has also risen. In Neuss, there are currently 98 confirmed cases, while Dormagen, Grevenbroich, Meerbusch, Kaarst, Korschenbroich, Jüchen, and Rommerskirchen have 42, 39, 35, 19, 14, 8, and 5 cases respectively.
It is worth noting that 1,062 people are in quarantine as suspected cases, as recommended by the district health department. The number of people in quarantine as suspected cases in Mönchengladbach is not specified.
Additionally, 1,162 people have been released from quarantine in the Rhine-Kreis Neuss area, while 26 test results are still pending in Mönchengladbach.
