Dortmund Fire Department Rescues Cats, Ensures Safety in Kleppingstraße Blaze
Dortmund Fire Department swiftly responded to a room fire in Kleppingstraße yesterday, arriving around 16:45. Two fire engines and rescue personnel were deployed to tackle the blaze on the third floor, where thick smoke billowed from a window.
Upon arrival, firefighters found no one in the affected apartment. However, two cats were rescued and administered oxygen by the rescue service. These felines were later transported to a nearby veterinary practice by the fire department's animal transporter.
Fourteen residents from the house received medical examinations as a precaution. One individual was hospitalised with suspected smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
The Dortmund Fire Department, led by Branddirektorin Katharina Timm, handled the incident efficiently. No lives were lost, and the rescued cats were taken care of. The fire remains under investigation.
