Floating Clinic of Tomsk - 2025 sets sail on May 14th

**" setting sail soon, Tomsk's Floating Health Center is getting ready to embark on a journey to remote regions of the Tomsk Region on May 14th!" the press service of the regional administration announces.

Previously, it was reported that Tomsk's Floating Health Center embarks on a voyage each spring with doctors, diagnostic equipment, and a pharmacy on board. Due to this, residents of remote regions in the Tomsk Region can receive healthcare services. Last year, over a two-month period, the team visited 32 settlements in the Molchanovsky, Kargasoksky, Parabelsky, and Alexandrovsky regions and examined 1,778 people, 328 of whom were children.

"Today, May 7th, the Governor of the Tomsk Region, Vladimir Mazur, met with the doctors of the Floating Health Center, which will set sail from Tomsk to remote areas of the region on May 14th," the message says.

It is confirmed that in 2025, the Tomsk "boat" will celebrate its 25th anniversary. The vessel "Vladimir Chernyakh" will assemble a team of doctors from medical unit No 2, led by the chief doctor and surgeon, Yevgeny Shlapnikov. During a month-long expedition, doctors will visit more than 30 settlements.

Residents of remote regions in the Tomsk Region will be examined by 17 highly qualified specialists: therapists, pediatricians, nurses, neurologists, cardiologists, ENT specialists, surgeons, trauma surgeons, eye surgeons, obstetricians, radiologists, clinical laboratory diagnosticians, laboratory technicians, and nurses. As always, the vessel will be equipped with all the necessary equipment: analyzers, ultrasound and ECG machines, a spirometer, and necessary medications.

"For all these years, the Floating Health Center has become a real beacon of the Tomsk Region. It's not just a healthcare project for the region, but real stories of saving human lives. Often, our doctors were able to provide assistance in emergency situations, where people required urgent hospitalization and treatment. I thank you for your help," Mazur quotes.

It is added that the Floating Health Center project is being implemented by the Tomsk Region Administration and AO "Vostokgazprom". Its goal is to provide high-quality medical care to the residents of remote villages and settlements in the region.

Floating clinics are mobile healthcare units that travel to remote or hard-to-reach areas, often by water, to provide medical services. They aim to reach areas where traditional healthcare infrastructure is lacking and often provide essential medical services, screenings, and educational programs. They can serve as emergency response units in areas prone to natural disasters or health crises. The purpose of the Tomsk Floating Health Center would likely be to deliver medical services to remote communities, promote health education, and support emergency needs, just like similar initiatives elsewhere.
