Future Expansion of SPTel iWOW Wireless Alert System in 2025, Reaching Every Corner of Singapore

In a significant move to enhance the safety and well-being of seniors living in public rental flats across Singapore, SPTel and iWOW Technology have joined forces to expand the Wireless Alert Alarm System (AAS) initiative.

The Wireless AAS, powered by iWOW Technology's alert buttons, will provide seniors with timely assistance during emergencies through a connection to a 24/7 emergency hotline. iWOW's alert buttons will be the primary means for seniors to summon help in case of an emergency.

Titus Yong, CEO of SPTel, expressed his pleasure at partnering with iWOW on this project, stating, "We are thrilled to collaborate with iWOW Technology to bring this essential service to our seniors. The Wireless AAS is a crucial step towards ensuring the safety and security of our elderly population."

In addition to iWOW's contribution, SPTel will provide its LoRaWAN network, multi-network SIM solution, IoT platform, and IoT-as-a-Service (IoT-a-a-S) platform for the deployment of the Wireless AAS. The LoRaWAN network, known for its long-range data transmission and low power consumption, will enable large-scale deployment of wireless alert devices.

The solar-powered LoRaWAN sensor network will support more sustainable digitalisation for businesses in Singapore, ensuring that the Wireless AAS is an environmentally friendly solution. The multi-network SIM solution, supporting the LoRaWAN sensor network, ensures uninterrupted connectivity during emergencies by connecting to all three major mobile networks in Singapore.

The IoT-a-a-S platform, provided by SPTel, connects and integrates the wireless alert devices for consolidated management. It also delivers end-to-end services such as data processing and application hosting, removing the need for upfront infrastructure investment.

Jer Yaw Chen, Senior VP of iWOW Technology, expressed his excitement about expanding the reach of their age-tech solutions like the AAS initiative and their alert button to more seniors in Singapore. He stated, "We are excited to partner with SPTel to bring our alert button technology to more seniors in Singapore. This partnership will help us reach our goal of ensuring that every senior in Singapore has access to timely assistance during emergencies."

The Housing & Development Board (HDB) has partnered with SPTel to expand the Wireless Alarm System to support seniors in public rental flats across Singapore. The deployment of the Wireless AAS is currently underway and is expected to be completed by 2030.

This marks the first use of SPTel's island-wide LoRaWAN network for facilitating emergency assistance, demonstrating SPTel's commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of society. The partnership between SPTel and iWOW Technology aims to provide emergency assistance to seniors living in public rental flats across Singapore, ensuring their safety and security.
