A woman from Hesse stood trial again in a German court, this time in the Kassel Regional Court, for posing as an anesthesiologist and committing numerous offenses in a hospital in the Schwalm-Eder district. In her initial employment, she presented a forged medical license and false credentials claiming she had completed medical studies.
The imposter started working in the internal medicine department and was later transferred to the anesthesiology department from 2016 to 2017. During this time, she made critical errors in treatment.
The first trial in 2022 resulted in a verdict of life imprisonment for murder in three cases, and additional guilty verdicts for ten counts of attempted murder and three counts of grievous bodily harm. However, the Federal Court of Justice overturned the decision due to legal errors, and the case was sent back for a retrial.
The second trial centered around the question of intent to kill, a key aspect in determining the charge of murder. The focus was also on the appropriate sentence.
