In Göppingen, the relocation of an entire hospital is underway.

The Alb-Fils Clinic, a prominent healthcare provider in the Göppingen region of Germany, has recently relocated to a state-of-the-art campus on the Eichert. The move, which involved the transportation of approximately 300 patients in their beds, was executed with careful planning and precision to ensure the safety and continuity of patient care.

Patient Iris Grimm described the move as "very relaxed," a sentiment shared by many as the clinic took great care to minimise disruption. The clinic reduced the number of patients as much as possible before the moving day to facilitate a smoother transition.

Four control stations were set up to check if patients had left the old building and arrived safely in their rooms in the new building. After each check, room doors in the old building were locked and marked with a chalk cross. An evening control round was also conducted to confirm everyone had left the old building.

The move included the transportation of medical equipment, furniture, and an estimated 9,000 cubic meters of items. A covered tunnel was set up to protect against the weather, and the clinic utilised twelve ambulances for safe patient and equipment transportation.

The new Alb-Fils Clinic is one of the most modern new clinics currently being operated in Germany. It boasts a fully digital infrastructure, with data transmitted quickly and collected in a digital patient file. This modern digital approach is expected to significantly improve efficiency and patient care.

The new clinic cost a total of 500 million euros, with the Alb-Fils Clinic building in Göppingen itself costing 380 million euros. The move has received praise from Federal Minister of Health Nina Warken (CDU), who described the new clinic as exemplary for Baden-Württemberg.

Despite some bottlenecks at the elevators in the new building, the move went smoothly overall. Nursing director Brigitte Käsler meticulously checked every room and cabinet in the old building to ensure nothing was forgotten.

For more detailed information on the Alb-Fils Clinic’s move, including specifics about patient relocation logistics, financial outlay, and the modern digital features integrated into the new building, it is recommended to consult official Alb-Fils Kliniken press releases, local government announcements, or reputable news sources covering healthcare developments in Göppingen.

At the Alb-Fils Clinic, the integration of science and technology is evident in their modern digital infrastructure, aiming to improve health-and-wellness practices and manage medical-conditions more effectively. During the recent move to their new state-of-the-art campus, patients praised the smooth transition and minimal disruptions, reflecting the clinic's commitment to maintaining top-notch medical care.
