Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 4, as the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk returns to Metro Atlanta. This annual event aims to raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer, celebrating survivors, honouring those lost, and supporting current patients. The walk will take place at the Home Depot Backyard, with registration starting at 7 a.m. and the walk beginning at 9 a.m.

Since its inception in 1993, Making Strides walks have collectively raised over $1 billion for lifesaving research and patient support programmes. These include Hope Lodge, Road To Recovery, and a 24/7 cancer helpline. Participants can sign up or donate at MakingStridesWalk.org/Atlanta to contribute to this worthy cause.

Sarabeth Stine, a T-Mobile executive and member of the Making Strides Executive Leadership Board, shared her personal connection to breast cancer. Her team has raised over $15,000 this year alone. Dr. Ryland Gore, a surgical breast oncologist, highlighted the importance of early detection. He stressed the need for regular screening, especially for those with a family history or genetic predisposition to the disease.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Atlanta is more than just a walk; it's a celebration of hope, resilience, and community. By participating or donating, you're directly supporting those affected by breast cancer and contributing to a future without the disease.
