KVIP Access Granted for Residents of Komanfokrom by GREL
Live, breath, and roll with the Ghanaian groove! The good folks at Ghana Rubber Estates Limited (GREL) have delivered the goods in Komanfokrom, Ahanta West municipality, Western Region. They've installed a spanking new Kumasi Ventilated Improved Pit Latrine (KVIP), dropping a cool GH¢284,000 on the folks living there.
Nana Gyentsi Amoako X, the big man behind Komanfokrom, tells us that this gesture is right on time, following an appeal to the company a few months back. He's quick to highlight that this little slice of paradise is smack in line with SDG Goal 6 Target 6.2. Yep, that's ending open defecation and providing access to sanitation and hygiene for all by 2030.
Let's give a shout-out to Nana Kwesi Agyeman IX, the cool cat of Lower Dixcove Traditional Area. He's grateful for GREL's continued support and thinks they've truly got their finger on the pulse of the communities they operate in. He gives a nod to GREL's track record of top-notch projects like schools, health centers, and water facilities across over 90 communities in Western, Central, and Eastern Regions.
The chief, also ACLANGO chair, commends the people of Komanfokrom for their amicable vibe with GREL for all these years. He advises them to keep this KVIP in tip-top shape by appointing a die-hard maintain-o-nator to keep things running smooth.
Now, Perry Acheampong, GREL's Corporate Affairs Manager, couldn't be happier with the peaceful coexistence between the community and GREL. He heaps on the praise for the people of Komanfokrom and dreams that other communities will follow their cool example. He also assures everyone that there'll be more teamwork between GREL and the Komanfokrom fam down the line.
Score one for cleaner, greener Ghana, thanks to GREL! And let's hope other organizations get the message and step up to contribute to this essential SDG Goal 6. Strong work, team! Keep those sanitation projects coming!
