Law Enforcement in Unna County Introduces Effort to Encourage E-Scooter Usage by Local Police Department
The Unna Police Headquarters is set to launch a new campaign titled "Minus Aura!" on Tuesday, 1st July, 2025. This initiative aims to reduce and prevent future E-scooter accidents in the district.
The campaign will focus on reminding riders of the rules and regulations surrounding E-scooter usage. Postcards with short warning messages have been printed, featuring brief, concise facts that riders should know. These postcards will be distributed at as many citizen encounters as possible in the Unna district, excluding Lünen.
Riding an E-scooter is only permitted on cycle paths or roads, and only from the age of 14. Examples of prohibited activities include riding with two people and riding under the influence of alcohol. These facts will be clearly stated on the back of the postcards.
The postcards will also be placed in the patrol cars of police officers, and the campaign will be promoted on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. Posters featuring what is not allowed on E-scooters with the campaign slogan "Minus Aura!" will be distributed to schools before the summer holidays.
"Minus-Aura" is a term from youth slang that describes the opposite of "aura," which refers to a positive presence or charisma. This campaign is an effort to create a safer environment for everyone in the Unna district.
