Limited Cases: Just 5 Individuals Affected
In a recent development, five residents of an apartment complex in Grevenbroich have tested positive for COVID-19. Approximately 450 residents of the complex were offered a test for a COVID-19 infection on Sunday.
The Rhein-Kreis Neuss health department is actively identifying all contact persons of the infected individuals and recommending that the respective city places them under quarantine. One of the positive cases is an individual living alone, and the remaining four are from three different families.
A 58-year-old man was found dead in his apartment during a search of the apartment complex on an unspecified date. His identity has been established, and the exact cause of his death remains unclear. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Mönchengladbach will decide whether an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Preliminary investigations by the police do not suggest a crime in the death of the 58-year-old man, and there are no indications of third-party involvement.
It was previously reported that two families living in the apartment complex had not complied with the quarantine regulations. The quarantine for all negatively tested residents of the apartment complex has been lifted, but no new information about the status of the quarantine for the infected individuals or their contact persons was provided.
The Kreis-Gesundheitsamt recommends that the city find alternative accommodation for the infected individuals and all those living with them for at least 14 days. Those who did not want to be tested will remain under quarantine for 14 days.
For any COVID-19 related queries, the Kreis-Gesundheitsamt hotline can be reached at 02181/601-7777 from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, and on weekends from 9 am to 6 pm.
