Los Angeles Shutdown Extension Past March 31 on Our Site
Japan House LA to Reopen on September 18, 2025
After a lengthy closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Japan House LA is set to reopen its doors to the public on September 18, 2025. The announcement comes after a multi-year closure with an extension, following recommendations from health organisations and local authorities.
The reopening will mark the beginning of the exhibition titled "Japan's Edible Illusions History," which will run until January 25, 2026. The venue will be open from Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with closures on Thanksgiving (November 27, 2025) and Christmas (December 25, 2025).
The closure, initially scheduled to end on March 31, 2020, was extended in compliance with Executive Order N-33-20 by the State of California and safer at home orders by the County and the City of Los Angeles. The public was asked to stay indoors from March 18, 2020, to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
Japan House LA wishes good health to everyone and looks forward to resuming a variety of immersive programs and events in the future. Updates on the reopening date will be provided through their newsletters, website, and social media accounts (@JapanHouseLA, @JHLosAngeles).
