Medical establishment based in Qatar, Naseem Medical, plans to establish a new branch in the capital city of Tanzania.
In a groundbreaking move, Naseem Medical Centre, a renowned healthcare provider based in Qatar, has announced the opening of a Surgical Centre at its C-Ring Road branch in Doha. This expansion marks the first step in the organisation's plans to establish a presence in Tanzania, with a branch in Dar es Salaam scheduled for the near future.
The Surgical Centre boasts three highly advanced operation theatres, enabling the performance of between 15 to 20 surgical procedures daily. The medical team, composed of over 15 professionals with a medical privilege of more than 100 different procedures, ensures a wide range of services. Procedures offered include basic surgery, orthopaedic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, gynaecology, medical urology, ENT, dental and maxillofacial surgery, and intrusive diagnostic treatments under gastroenterology. The Centre can execute nearly 90% of keyhole surgeries with the help of arthroscopy and laparoscopy.
Dr. Munir Ali Ibrahim, General Manager of Naseem Healthcare, expressed optimism about the expansion, stating that they were drawn to Tanzania due to the prime location and potential for growth. Dr. Munir mentioned that they explored several African markets, including Nigeria, but chose Tanzania for these reasons. He also emphasised that Naseem Medical Centre does not compromise on quality and aims to provide affordable healthcare services to everyone.
The Ambassador of Tanzania to Qatar, H.E. Dr. Maladhi Juma Maalim, congratulated Naseem Medical Centre on introducing a surgical centre in Doha and expressed support for the decision to open a branch in Tanzania. He believes this expansion will bring affordable, high-quality healthcare services to the public.
The opening of the Tanzanian branch is scheduled for March this year. With this expansion, Naseem Medical Centre aims to provide enhanced healthcare services locally, improve medical accessibility in a rapidly growing urban center, bring specialized or international-standard healthcare to Tanzania, create employment opportunities and stimulate the healthcare sector, and promote partnerships and knowledge exchange between Qatar and Tanzania in medical fields.
Such expansions often aim to broaden healthcare capacity and quality in emerging markets like Tanzania, supporting both public health and economic development in the region.
