In the coastal city of Aktau, residents have been expressing concern over a growing rat problem. The concern is particularly heightened due to the potential danger to children.

The issue has been a topic of discussion for some time, with residents regularly reporting sightings of rats in various microdistricts of the city. Videos of rats running around near trash containers have been shared by locals, adding to the sense of unease.

The city authorities have taken steps to address the issue. The first stage of rat extermination work was carried out in June, focusing on several microdistricts, including 16, 17, 18, 18A, 19, and 20. The work was conducted around trash containers and the embankment.

The company responsible for the rat culling within residential blocks and adjacent territories in Aktau is called "Amanat." However, the disinfection/rat extermination work inside multi-apartment residential buildings is the responsibility of the company servicing the building, as stated by the akimat.

The second stage of rat extermination work is scheduled for September, with the work schedule currently being developed.

Unfortunately, the rat problem is not limited to Aktau. Reports of rats have also been made in Almaty, the Karaganda region, and Nur-Sultan. In Almaty, the issue has led residents to prepare for a large-scale war against rats. Rats have even settled near a children's playground in the Karaganda region and the courtyard of a residential complex in Nur-Sultan.

Local news outlets, Liter.kz and Lada.kz, have reported on the rat problem in Aktau, shedding light on the ongoing efforts to control the situation.

As the second stage of rat extermination work approaches, residents of Aktau hope for a swift resolution to the issue, ensuring the safety of their children and the general public.
