Participants Plan to March for Tomorrow's Support

In a heartwarming show of solidarity, a large gathering of supporters met at Terrill Park on Saturday for the Walk 4 Tomorrow. The event, organized by Wyatt's Warriors, aimed to provide support for suicide survivors and those struggling with mental health issues.

Friends and family attending the event wore purple and teal, symbolising support and creating a network for those considering suicide. This powerful display of unity was a testament to the importance of community involvement in mental health support efforts, a belief shared by mental health therapist Abbie Placke and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Karen Schmitz.

During the walk, participants ventured around Terrill Park, some even visiting the Farmers Market. The event featured several agencies, each contributing to the cause in their unique ways.

Wyatt's Warriors, established by Chris Willey and his wife Andrea after the loss of their son Wyatt in October 2022, is currently working on a project to install 9-88 signage throughout Delaware County. The purpose of this signage is to provide information to people struggling with their mental health, potentially encouraging them to reach out for help.

Chris Willey, a supporter of suicide survivors, believes that the efforts of Wyatt's Warriors are making a difference in the community. Karen Schmitz, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Regional Behavioral Services, offers advice for survivors who may feel they didn't see the signs.

Unfortunately, there are no search results providing information about the organizations that participated in the Walk 4 Tomorrow event in Terrill Park on Saturday. However, more information about Wyatt's Warriors and their upcoming 'Meats and Beats' event on September 20th can be found on the Community Message Board.

As the community continues to come together in support of mental health, events like the Walk 4 Tomorrow serve as reminders of the power of unity and the importance of open conversations about mental health. If you or someone you know is struggling, remember that help is just a sign away.
