In Wörth, Germersheim district, two teenagers suffered critical injuries after a lightning strike from an overhead power line that occurred on Tuesday evening. As reported by the police, the 16-year-olds had climbed onto a parked tanker wagon at the train station. The proximity to the overhead power line resulted in an electric shock, called a "voltage arc," for the teenagers, who subsequently fell onto the train tracks and were promptly hospitalized.
