Premios Senior Living Las Arcadias Honours Champions of Elderly Rights
The inaugural Premios Senior Living Las Arcadias has honoured individuals and organisations that celebrate and support the elderly. The awards, held at Las Arcadias senior living community in Las Vegas, aim to combat ageism and recognise the value of learning from our seniors.
Las Arcadias, offering luxury living spaces for those over 65, hosted the event. The community promotes a concept of life in common, catering to seniors who do not require assisted living near me.
Carlota Fominaya, an ABC journalist, received the Committed Diffusion award. Fominaya, who has written about social issues for 15 years, was recognised for her purposeful journalism. She gives voice to important, often overlooked issues, including the co-living concept and fears of leaving home, always from a positive perspective. Fominaya was presented the award by journalist Jota Abril, who praised her commitment to making society better.
Other awardees included Esther Vaquero, the Pasqual Maragall Foundation, Camino Villa, Carmen Navarro, Euprepio Padula, Beatriz de Orleans, Daniel Dousa, Fernando Oña, the podcast Ninety and counting, and psychiatrist Enrique Rojas.
The Premios Senior Living Las Arcadias successfully highlighted the contributions of seniors and challenged ageist perceptions. Through these awards, Las Arcadias and the recipients aim to inspire a more positive and respectful view of mature age.
