In the heart of Bavaria, the ZGT Health and Therapy Center continues to revolutionize the healthcare sector. Established in 1997 by Margot Raff, this successful company has grown from a rehabilitation center to a comprehensive healthcare provider, expanding to offer neurological intensive therapy and hand therapy by the end of November.

On August 5, 2025, County Administrator Peter Dreier and Economic Referent Ludwig Goetz visited the ZGT, witnessing firsthand the centre's innovative approach to patient care. One such innovation is the EksoNR skeleton, a device that enables patients who have lost the ability to walk independently to relearn this vital skill.

The ZGT is a pioneer in the digitization of rehabilitation, being one of only 40 practices nationwide that permit digital signatures for rehabilitative sports. The organization, known as the Bayerischer Behinderten- und Rehabilitationssportverband (BVS), is working on measures such as promoting the introduction of a uniform digital patient record and electronic prescriptions through collaboration with health insurance providers and digital health initiatives.

The ZGT employs a team of 65 dedicated professionals, including physiotherapists, ergotherapists, speech therapists, sports scientists, and more. Margot Raff, the centre's visionary leader, expressed the emotional impact of seeing patients regain their mobility after months of immobility, often leading to tears.

The ZGT invests heavily in the latest technologies and equipment, allocating approximately 2.5 million euros for tailored treatment options. The variety in the types of appointments is appreciated by the therapists working at the ZGT, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care.

The ZGT's fleet consists of about 30 cars used for home visits and external appointments, serving a large catchment area. Therapists travel to nursing homes as far as the Moosburg region to provide comprehensive care on-site.

County Administrator Peter Dreier emphasized the need for a change in mindset regarding prevention and the expansion of preventive offers. The ZGT management team advocates for long-term therapy approaches and early responsibility for health, aligning with the county's vision for a healthier community.

Margot Raff's daughters, Denise and Nadine, have also joined the company after completing their training and studies, continuing the family's legacy of excellence in healthcare. The ZGT's ultimate goal is to make health services accessible to everyone, contributing to a healthier and more active Bavaria.
