Recognition of Excellence in Patient Care: Top Staff Honored by Medical Center Board

Dentistry Excellence
Lenora Colaruotolo, LMSW, a senior social worker at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, received the 2011 Board Excellence Award in the Dentistry category. Committed to improving the oral health of low-income residents and advocating for quality-of-life dental matters for frail patients who've finished cancer treatments, Colaruotolo is a driving force for change in the field.
Business and Clerical Excellence
Michael Ritz, of the Office of Research and Project Administration, received the 2011 Excellence Award for Business professionals. Ritz is at the helm of a far-reaching initiative to standardize all of the medical center's clinical research financial and billing processes.
Lu Sansone, a receptionist for Patient and Family Services in the Department of Social Work, was the recipient of the 2011 Excellence Award for Clerical professionals. Physician Excellence
Marc Berliant, M.D., the medical center's chief of the Division of General Medicine, received this year's Board Excellence Award-winning physician.
