Security firm employees in Furth receive disparate salaries: Customs investigation reveals widespread wage disparity among security company staff
The Regensburg Customs Office is currently investigating a security company in the southern Upper Palatinate for systematically practicing wage splitting from 2016 to 2021. This practice, aimed at evading social security contributions such as pension, health, and unemployment insurance, has raised concerns about the company's adherence to legal regulations.
According to the investigation, one instance involved a worker's overtime pay being distributed among 16 different colleagues between 2018 and 2019. This was not a one-off occurrence, as another example shows the same worker receiving her salary from four different people in just one month. This deliberate circumvention of legal regulations is a serious breach of trust and fairness in the workplace.
The Regensburg Local Court has fined the defendant 2,400 euros, but the name of the person accused before the court remains undisclosed. The Regensburg Public Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against the worker for aiding and abetting the evasion and misappropriation of wages at the Regensburg Local Court.
Lead Government Director Matschke of the Regensburg Customs Office has spoken out about the issue, stating that wage splitting harms the social welfare system and fair competition. The practice involved dividing one person's salary among several employees to give the impression of minimal employment, thereby avoiding social security contributions.
