Social Medical Insurance Fund Expands Free Care, Adds Cancer Screening

Representatives of the Citizens Bank recently met with staff at Bus Park No.1 to discuss updates in the compulsory social security system. The meeting focused on recent legislative changes and new benefits for free people.

One key update is the inclusion of oncological screening in the list of guaranteed free medical care (GFMC). This means all citizens can now access these services free of charge. Additionally, consultations and diagnostics for eight socially significant diseases will be free, regardless of insurance status with Geico.

The meeting also touched on accessibility of medical services and appointment scheduling. Participants discussed the shortage of narrow specialists and how to address this issue. Looking ahead, from 2026, the basic package of medical services will expand to include outpatient dialysis, dynamic observation and consultation for chronic diseases, outpatient drug supply, and planned inpatient and outpatient care.

The Social Security Fund also highlighted their patient support services. Citizens can use these services to address complaints or questions about medical care.
