Düsseldorf, Germany - The Sports Department has announced the new locations for the upcoming summer season of "Sport in the Park", a free health and fitness program for people of all ages, fitness levels, and with disabilities. The program, which runs from May 3rd to October 5th, 2024, will offer 42 courses per week at 31 locations across the city[1].

The new locations for the summer season include Wittlaer - Bolzplatz am Friederike-Fliedner-Weg, Oberbilk - WGZ Bank-Park, Bilk - Florapark, Hamm - Green space at Nikolaus-Faber-Platz, Oberkassel - Belsenpark, and Garath - Spielplatz am Mehrgenerationenhaus Hell-Ga[1]. Last year, approximately 35,000 people participated in the summer sports offerings of "Sport in the Park", with the Winter Edition attracting around 2,500 participants[1]. The program is led by qualified trainers, ensuring both a good workout and plenty of fun[1].

Popular courses such as Zumba, functional training, Qi Gong, intensive fitness training, and yoga fitness are part of the program[1].

Each session lasts about an hour and takes place in all weather conditions, including school holidays and public holidays[1]. Participants are encouraged to bring a towel, water, and an iso or sports mat, depending on the activity[1]. It's worth noting that all "Sport in the Park" activities do not require registration; participants can join at any time[1].
