Train service for health has halted in Vasilsursk

In the heart of the Nizhny Novgorod region, a specialized train equipped with medical diagnostic and treatment facilities has arrived at the local hospital in Vasilsursk. Known as the Health Train, this mobile medical service is providing essential healthcare services to residents who often lack easy access to hospitals or clinics.

The Health Train's journey to Vasilsursk, located 200 km from the regional center and requiring a 4-hour travel through Chuvashia and Mari El, is part of a broader effort to deliver quality healthcare to remote settlements. This initiative is supported by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin.

Valery Sokolov, a resident of Vasilsursk, is currently receiving consultations from a cardiologist on the Health Train. He mentions a ferry as a potential obstacle to seeking medical help in the past. Mr. Sokolov has a history of a severe heart attack a year ago, and the Health Train's arrival offers him a follow-up appointment tomorrow.

The Health Train consists of mobile diagnostic complexes, equipped with ultrasound, fluorography, mammography, and laboratory research equipment. Its services include checking the cardiovascular system and blood sugar levels. Doctors from the Health Train have seen around 50 patients so far and have detected several chronic diseases in their early stages.

Margarita Knyazeva, a cardiologist working on the Health Train, states that they often find acute cases during their consultations. Dmitry Ryzhov, the head of the Health Train, adds that patients with chronic diseases come to them to seek treatment.

The Health Train's work is part of the implementation of the national project "Long and Active Life". This project aims to improve the quality of life and extend the lifespan of Russian citizens. Mobile clinics, such as the Health Train, play a crucial role in achieving this goal by providing healthcare services in remote areas where access is limited.

Reporters will spend a day with the medics on the Health Train to document their work and the impact of mobile healthcare on the community. As the Health Train travels across the region, it brings hope and improved healthcare to those who need it most.
