In his first public statement since revealing his prostate cancer diagnosis, former U.S. President Joe Biden expressed optimism about his condition and the future of his treatment. At a press conference held on May 30, the 82-year-old leader declared that he feels "good" and believes the prognosis is favorable.
Biden's medical team announced on May 18 that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, with bone metastases, rated a 9 on the Gleason score.
During the press conference, Biden indicated that he has begun a treatment program involving various medications and has high hopes for recovery. "Our prognosis is that we're going to beat this cancer," he asserted. "It's not in any organ, my bones are solid, it hasn't spread. So, I feel good," he added.
The former president was attended by one of the world's top surgeons, whom he credited for his ongoing treatment.
