UK Digital Health Hub secures significant deal with Daiser
The South Yorkshire Digital Health Hub, an academically-led partnership between the University of Sheffield and Hallam University, has partnered with UK start-up Daiser to revolutionise digital health services in the region.
Funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Committee (EPSRC) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the South Yorkshire Digital Health Hub aims to translate physical services into digital, accelerating innovation in health technology.
Daiser, an AI native modular digital ecosystem, offers a solution to complex research translation into accessible, patient-friendly technologies. The platform is designed to work in the real world and at scale, providing a safe and data-secure environment for developing health-related tech solutions.
The partnership between the two entities aims to provide South Yorkshire with better health through digital means. Daiser's 'Lego brick' digital approach allows for customization of care systems according to patient needs, offering a flexible and adaptable solution.
In addition to its work in South Yorkshire, Daiser has entered into a long-term partnership with the Cluster "Zukunft der Pflege" (Future of Care Cluster) to improve global digital health services. The start-up has also secured a spot on Google's AI accelerator programme, further cementing its position as a leader in digital health innovation.
The partnership between Daiser and the South Yorkshire Digital Health Hub is timely, as the NHS faces challenges in responding quickly to its needs. The Darzi review highlighted this inability to respond quickly as a key problem, and partnerships like this could be at the heart of the upcoming NHS 10 year plan.
The MHRA has launched a new digital hub, hailing it as a global tech revolution in healthcare. The launch of Daiser's five clinical services, including heart monitoring and contraceptives, is set to contribute significantly to this revolution.
Daiser aims to change the trend of innovation theatre in health, where supposed key players have talked and promised much but delivered little in real outcomes. By delivering on its promises and accelerating the translation of research into accessible digital health services, Daiser is poised to make a significant impact on the future of healthcare.
