Uncharged Male Remains at Large After Lewd Act on Daughter's FaceTime Call, Baffling Concerned Mother

In a concerning turn of events, a 14-year-old girl from Elmhurst had a disturbing FaceTime call with a stranger who exposed himself. The incident occurred in April, while the girl was walking through Berens Park.

The traced number leads to a Maryland man with a history of child porn charges, but authorities have yet to locate or apprehend him. The Maryland police are finding it difficult to find the man, despite his previous charges.

The girl's mother, Stephanie, was shocked as she had parental controls and was monitoring her daughter's social media. She feels that the system is protecting the predator. "It shouldn't take this long when it comes to a minor," she said.

The suspect's name is not being released because he has not been charged with a crime. Sgt. Dorian Jarrette from Elmhurst Police emphasized the importance of communication between parents and kids. He also advised documenting details such as when and where a call occurred if it's unclear if a child has been a victim.

Sgt. Jarrette believes the suspect will be held accountable due to a solid lead on their identity. The Elmhurst Police are working to trace the man behind the call, while the Frederick Police Department in Maryland has made repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact the suspect.

The man tried the girl's number several times, a fact that underscores the need for vigilance. The mother and daughter are speaking out to encourage others to report similar calls to the police. The girl hopes that people will communicate with someone they trust if they receive similar calls.

Sgt. Jarrette stated that charging cyber crimes can be tricky. However, he reassured the public that every effort is being made to bring the suspect to justice. The Elmhurst Police Department encourages anyone with information about this case to come forward.

This incident serves as a reminder for parents to have open and honest conversations with their children about online safety, and for everyone to report suspicious activity to the authorities.
