Weekly Highlight: Infants of Distinction
In the picturesque city of Neuss, Germany, two hospitals – Lukaskrankenhaus and Johanna Etienne Hospital – have recently welcomed new arrivals.
Dr. Andreas Kremer, a local figure, paid a visit to Hiba and Omer Alhejazi, and Omer's colleagues Fabian and Nina Hermes, to congratulate them on the births of their sons.
Hiba and Omer Alhejazi, residents of Neuss-Weckhoven, welcomed Ibrahim into the world at the Johanna Etienne Hospital. Weighing a robust 3,410 grams, Ibrahim is the first child for the Alhejazi family. The hospital chose to deliver Ibrahim earlier this year compared to last year, marking the 1000th birth at the Johanna Etienne Hospital.
Meanwhile, at the Lukaskrankenhaus, Nina and Fabian Hermes were thrilled to welcome their son, Jakob Hermes, into the world. Jakob, measuring 52 centimeters long, weighed a hearty 3,720 grams. The Lukaskrankenhaus, with its attached children's clinic, was the hospital of choice for the Hermes family.
The pregnancy of Nina and Fabian Hermes came as a surprise to both of them, but they have embraced parenthood with open arms. Nina, an educator in Neuss, will be taking parental leave, while Fabian will be starting a police training course in September, following his departure from the military.
The head of obstetrics at the Lukaskrankenhaus, Dominik Garcia Piés, expects around 1,800 births this year. Last year, the hospital recorded a total of 1,790 births, including 39 sets of twins, one set of triplets, and one set of quadruplets.
For those seeking detailed and accurate data on hospital birth statistics, it is recommended to contact the hospitals directly or check reports published by local health authorities or the German Federal Statistical Office (Statistisches Bundesamt). They sometimes publish regional birth statistics that might include this information. Additionally, hospitals might publish annual reports or statistics on their websites or through their public relations offices.
The arrival of Jakob and Ibrahim marks a joyous occasion for the families and the city of Neuss. As Nina and Fabian Hermes recently tied the knot, they look forward to starting their new journey as parents. The Alhejazi family also celebrates this significant milestone, welcoming Ibrahim into their lives.
The Alhejazi family is proud to introduce their first child, Ibrahim, as part of their expanding health-and-wellness focus, marking a significant family-health achievement for the family. Nina and Fabian Hermes, after unexpectedly embarking on parenthood, are focusing on science and childcare, with Nina taking parental leave and Fabian pursuing further training.
