Women exhibit a strong inclination towards digital engagements.
In the expansive Krasnodar Territory, efforts to modernise the communication infrastructure in rural areas are underway. Districts such as Dinskoy, Temryuksky, Ust-Labinsky, Krymsky, and several others are part of this initiative.
Anton Konstantinovich Zabolotnyj, Director of MegaFon in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea, has highlighted that over 40% of the regional population resides in small settlements.
A significant portion of these rural residents are pensioners, who are increasingly embracing digital technology. Statistics show that subscribers of retirement age account for 31% of internet data usage in villages, towns, hamlets, and settlements across the region.
Interestingly, only 27% of pensioners prefer button phones. The rest have made the switch to smartphones, with the most popular models among them being the Xiaomi Redmi 9A, Xiaomi Redmi 9C, and Samsung Galaxy A12.
The increased use of smartphones by pensioners has led to a surge in mobile traffic. Over the past year, subscribers of retirement age in the Krasnodar Territory have used 32% more mobile traffic. On average, rural residents aged 65 and older process 10 GB per month.
Women in the Krasnodar Territory are more active online, spending 20% more time on messengers and social networks compared to their male counterparts.
The villages of Starominsky, Kanevskaya, Kushchevskaya, and Novopokrovskaya lead in total traffic volume. The use of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology in the region has been ensured, providing crystal-clear sound during calls while simultaneously downloading files or messaging.
Since the beginning of this year, residents of the region have spent over 1.5 billion minutes on calls, equivalent to 3.3 years of continuous communication. These statistics underscore the growing importance of reliable and modern communication infrastructure in rural areas.

The efforts of MegaFon are aimed at bridging the digital divide and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their location, has access to the best possible communication services.
